GTA 6 fans starving for news might not have to wait much longer. Insider NateTheHate — who has a strong track record, including leaking the Zelda Ocarina of Time remake two months early — says to expect "a fair bit of GTA 6" in August.
He didn't confirm exactly what's coming, and he framed it as an expectation rather than a sourced scoop. But the timing lines up with a lot of things pointing the same direction.
What's making people think something's coming
The most concrete piece of evidence is Rockstar's own website. The GTA 6 site received a backend update recently, and the account tracking it noted that the last time they detected a similar change, the cover art and pre-order announcement dropped shortly after. The same account later clarified the recent updates appear to be performance-related — no new images or text — so it's not proof of anything on its own.
Then there's the calendar. Take-Two, Rockstar's parent company, reports earnings on August 7. That's the kind of date where publishers tend to have news to share. And Take-Two has already said GTA 6's marketing campaign would begin over the summer, which is now.
The "not delayed" part
NateTheHate also addressed the growing anxiety that Rockstar's quiet summer means a delay. His answer: no.
"GTA6 will arrive in November as planned," he said, adding that the game has a marketing plan and Rockstar is sticking to it. "No reason for concern."
That matches what Bloomberg's Jason Schreier said in June, when he put himself "90% confident" GTA 6 wouldn't slip again. It also matches Take-Two's own statements keeping the November 19 date.
Should you get excited?
Worth keeping a realistic head on. NateTheHate was answering a question about when we'd see gameplay, so his answer could hint at a gameplay reveal — but he never actually said the word "gameplay." It could be a trailer, it could be marketing materials, it could be screenshots, or it could be something tied to the earnings call.
With launch less than four months away and no third trailer or gameplay footage shown yet, something has to give soon. August is the last sensible window for a major reveal before the pre-launch push. Just don't pin a specific date to any of this yet — the only confirmed fact right now is that GTA 6 launches November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
